The Erasmus Mundus EACH Scholarships 2027 offer an opportunity for students with a strong background in chemistry to pursue a two-year master's degree in analytical chemistry across several European universities. The Erasmus Mundus Excellence in Analytical Chemistry (EACH) programme leads to an MSc worth 120 ECTS and is taught entirely in English.

For the 2027 intake, applicants should begin preparing early. EACH has indicated that its admission requirements will be updated by the first half of October 2026, but the 2027 application deadline, scholarship award numbers, and some eligibility conditions have not yet been confirmed.

The application is submitted through DreamApply, making it important to understand the process before the application window opens.

Erasmus Mundus EACH Scholarships 2027 Overview

The EACH programme combines advanced analytical chemistry education with international study experience. Students begin their studies in Estonia before moving to a partner university for a specialised second-year track.

Key details include:

  • Programme: Erasmus Mundus Excellence in Analytical Chemistry
  • Degree: MSc, 120 ECTS
  • Duration: Two years
  • Study language: English
  • First-year university: University of Tartu, Estonia
  • Second-year options: Uppsala University, Sweden; University of Lyon, France; or Åbo Akademi University, Finland
  • Current scholarship package: €18,000 participation costs plus €1,400 monthly for up to 24 months
  • Application platform: DreamApply
  • Application fee: No fee currently stated
  • 2027 deadline: Not yet announced
  • 2027 requirements: Expected to be updated by early October 2026

Because the 2027 rules are still pending, applicants should verify all requirements once the official update is released.

Where Do EACH Students Study?

EACH provides students with an international study pathway. All students begin their first year at the University of Tartu in Estonia.

During the second year, students follow a specialist track at one of three partner universities. The Uppsala track focuses on areas such as bioorganic analysis and advanced separation. The Lyon option covers industrial analysis and process control, while Åbo Akademi focuses on electroanalysis and sensors.

Applicants rank two preferred tracks during the application process. However, the preferred track is not guaranteed because placement can depend on first-semester academic performance and programme requirements.

What Does the Erasmus Mundus EACH Scholarship Cover?

The current EACH scholarship information describes financial support that goes beyond tuition. The posted Erasmus Mundus package includes €18,000 for participation costs and a €1,400 monthly allowance for up to 24 months.

The participation-cost funding includes tuition and insurance under the current programme terms. The monthly allowance is intended to support subsistence, installation, travel, and visa-related costs.

However, these figures should be treated as the currently published terms, not confirmed final amounts for the 2027 intake. Applicants should check the updated programme information before making financial plans.

Scholarships are limited and merit-based. The programme also applies geographical considerations under Erasmus Mundus rules. Students who have previously received an Erasmus Mundus master's scholarship cannot receive another one under the scheme.

Who Is Eligible for EACH?

The current academic requirements are particularly important for applicants with chemistry-related bachelor's degrees.

Under the presently published rules, applicants should have at least:

  • 60 ECTS in chemistry or chemical engineering
  • 20 ECTS in mathematics and/or physics
  • A transcript average of at least 66% of the maximum grade

Applicants whose universities do not use the ECTS system can still apply. The University of Tartu evaluates academic credits and grades from different national education systems.

Some applicants may also face additional requirements depending on their country of diploma issuance and preferred study track. These conditions should be checked again when the 2027 requirements are published.

Is IELTS Required for Erasmus Mundus EACH?

Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency unless they qualify for an accepted exemption.

The currently published English requirements include options such as IELTS Academic with an overall score of 6.5 and no band below 5.5, PTE Academic 62, and specified Cambridge examinations.

A previous degree taught in English does not automatically guarantee an exemption. Exemptions depend on the programme's published rules and the country where the applicant completed qualifying education.

Applicants should therefore verify the accepted English evidence before submitting their application.

How to Apply for Erasmus Mundus EACH 2027

Step 1: Check the Updated Requirements

Wait for EACH to publish its 2027 admission update in the first half of October 2026. Confirm the academic requirements, English rules, scholarship conditions, documents, and application deadline.

Step 2: Prepare Your Documents

Prepare your bachelor's diploma or current transcript, official academic transcripts, passport, English-language evidence, proof of residence, and certified translations where required.

Step 3: Apply Through DreamApply

When applications open, create an account through the EACH DreamApply portal and complete the application form. Select and rank your preferred second-year study tracks.

Step 4: Write Your Motivation Letter

The current selection process gives significant weight to the motivation letter. The published limit is 2,000 characters including spaces.

Your letter should clearly explain your academic background, relevant chemistry experience, career objectives, and reasons for choosing EACH and your preferred study tracks.

Importantly, EACH states that applicants must not use AI to write the motivation letter or during the online calculation test. Applicants should submit their own original work.

Step 5: Complete the Calculation Test

Applicants who pass the initial stage may receive an invitation to complete the online calculation test. The current selection system considers previous grades, the motivation letter, and test performance.

Erasmus Mundus EACH Scholarships 2027 Deadline

The Erasmus Mundus EACH Scholarships 2027 deadline has not yet been announced. The programme expects to update its requirements by the first half of October 2026.

Students interested in this analytical chemistry master's should therefore prepare their academic documents and English-language evidence now. Once the 2027 application window opens, applicants can submit their applications through DreamApply according to the newly published instructions.
