Are you an international student planning to study in the UK in early 2027? The University of South Wales (USW) Scholarship for the February 2027 intake provides eligible self-funded international students with an opportunity to reduce their tuition fees while starting selected undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Wales.

USW is accepting applications for selected January and February 2027 courses. Eligible students are automatically considered for the university's international scholarships when they submit their admission application. This means there is no separate scholarship application form for the standard awards.

However, applicants should understand that the University of South Wales Scholarship is primarily a tuition-fee reduction. It does not cover all study and living expenses. Students should therefore plan separately for accommodation, living costs, visa expenses and other costs associated with studying in the UK.

What Scholarship Can International Students Receive?

The University of South Wales international scholarship offers different levels of tuition-fee support depending on the applicant's circumstances.

International Office Scholarship

Eligible international students may receive up to £1,500 for undergraduate study or £2,000 for postgraduate study under the standard International Office Scholarship.

Students do not normally need to complete a separate scholarship application. Eligibility is assessed as part of the admission process, with the scholarship decision included in the offer where applicable.

Chancellor's International Development Scholarship

Students from selected regions may qualify for the £2,500 Chancellor's International Development Scholarship.

Eligible regions include selected countries across Africa, Latin America, South Asia, Southeast Asia, Central Asia and Turkey, the Caribbean, Lebanon, Bahrain, Norway and Albania.

Applicants should check the scholarship conditions for their specific country before relying on the £2,500 award.

EU students have a separate scholarship arrangement that can reduce eligible tuition fees to the applicable Home-student fee level for the duration of their course.

Do You Need a Separate Scholarship Application?

One of the most convenient features of the USW scholarship admissions process is that eligible applicants are automatically considered.

Your Admission Application Is the Starting Point

After applying for an eligible course, USW assesses the applicant for applicable scholarship support. If an award is granted, the scholarship information should appear in the offer letter.

Students must then follow the conditions stated in their offer, including any required deposit payment and deadlines. Failing to meet these conditions could affect the scholarship.

Some applicants are excluded from the scholarship schemes. These can include government- or company-sponsored students, English-language students and certain placement-year students. The Chancellor's scholarship also excludes some programmes, including Higher National Diploma and Foundation Degree routes.

How to Get the Additional £500 Early CAS Scholarship

International students beginning an eligible January or February 2027 course may be able to receive an additional £500 Early CAS Scholarship.

Meet the October 31, 2026 CAS-Ready Deadline

To qualify, eligible applicants must become CAS ready by October 31, 2026. This generally involves completing the required CAS Shield process, submitting the necessary documents and ensuring that the required tuition deposit has cleared.

The additional award has exclusions. It does not apply to EU Scholarship holders and is unavailable for certain programmes, including PhD, MPhil, MRes, DBA, ACCA and specified MBA Global routes.

Students should therefore confirm that both their course and scholarship status qualify before planning around the extra £500.

How to Apply for the University of South Wales February 2027 Intake

The application process is straightforward, but students should begin early because course availability can change.

Step 1: Choose an Eligible Course

Start by reviewing the University of South Wales courses available for the January or February 2027 intake. Make sure your chosen programme is included among the eligible courses.

Step 2: Check Entry Requirements

Review the academic and English-language requirements for your country and selected course. Many programmes use IELTS 6.0 overall with 5.5 in each component as an example requirement, although requirements vary by programme.

Step 3: Submit Your Admission Application

Apply through the university's international admissions route. Your admission application will also allow USW to assess you for applicable scholarship support.

Step 4: Review Your Offer

If you qualify for a scholarship, check your offer letter carefully. Pay attention to the scholarship amount, deposit requirements and any deadlines attached to the award.

Step 5: Complete CAS Requirements

If you want to qualify for the additional £500 Early CAS Scholarship, complete the relevant CAS requirements by October 31, 2026, provided your course is eligible.

University of South Wales Scholarship Deadline

There is no single final admissions deadline published for every January/February 2027 international course. Course availability can close before the intake, so applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible.

The confirmed deadline for becoming CAS ready for the additional £500 Early CAS Scholarship is October 31, 2026.

Students considering a September 2027 intake should also check future scholarship terms separately because funding amounts and deadlines may change.
